Task 1

Task 1 in my eyes went well as i got extensive research done and did everything in task 1 rather well. In addition, it was on time so i did not have to try and catch up whilst everyone was doing task 2. My mind maps were good, fully expanding all options and giving as many points as i could possible think of or find if necessary. Moreover, my links from YouTube i believe were well chosen to go with my thinking and writing.

Nautical Mindmap

This is one good example of my mood-boards that i am pleased with.

Task 2

From this point onward my time management and the time i actually had to do my work went down the drain and dangerously effected the quality effected my work. Fifty percent of this is in my control i could have done something about but i did not which goes to show my work is not that good. And that in further projects and programming in particular i will need to strictly plan a time plan for the entire project.

However, the actual work that i did for my initial ideas and my proposal for the idea i had decided on was well done. I included everything expressing my thoughts and were i wanted to go with the project. However, i had aimed too high for the time frame i had given myself so throughout the weeks later i had to simplify everything.

Task 3

The final versions of my assets i was very happy with. Going with the theme of everything and all linked to together nicely. In addition, there designs kept simple but also had detail were needed so that they still clearly represented what i wanted them too, whilst looking good.

You can also see how i repeated techniques for certain things so that you could see a link between the assets. The best example is the grass tile and the floating islands, as you can clearly see i have used the same brushes for both of them.

But i do wish i did not spend as much time as i did because i then would have had more time to experiment with character design and other assets, as i may of coming up with something better than what i am now left with. But that is all part of the learning and how one little thing can become a big issue and ruin the rest of your work and possible your reputation.

Task 4

By this point i had so much to do with coding the game and bringing i had together plus the growing pile of pages i needed to write for my blog, presenting the huge error in my ways that was now clearly showing the failure in my planning.

The coding was rather difficult and there was error after error but i am pleased that i got through a lot of them finding silly little mistakes that i did not realise i had made until later. Or i found someone on the internet who explained what i actually needed to do, making me realise that if i manage my time in future programming projects i can add more complicated programs to create and overall better game that i would be happier with at an end result.

The writing i left for far too late and ended up doing it during Task 8 in the FMP which set me back on that work, creating more issues for me.

Overall

Overall this was a huge learning curve for me that reminded me of what i already knew and showed me what i could be capable of if i put my mind to it. Furthermore, my project has taught me about my issues that i have with my work and that i need to learn to not leave things to the next day otherwise i will continue to till it is too late. And If i am to not be so stressed or upset and pissed off with my work i need to realise how much time i actually have to do the tasks is not as long as it seems so there is no time to be leaving it to another day.
